Brais Malouin and Associates (BMA) was founded in March, 1991 in Montreal, by Normand Brais, P. Eng., M.Sc.A., Ph.D. Initially R&D director at an American industrial burner manufacturer, he then moved on to the position of professional research associate at Polytechnique Montréal, where he joined the research program at Gaz Metropolitain, which then became the Natural Gas Technology Center.

Important advances were discovered as a result of the founding of a new company which manufactures very low NOx industrial boilers: National Combustion Equipment (NATCOM). Thanks to the discovery of several new concepts via CFD, the Natcom burners revolutionized the North American Industrial burner market. This new combustion technology significantly reduced atmospheric pollutant emissions such as NOx, while producing less than 9ppm with natural gas.
Today Dr. Brais is active at the helm of BMA, as a consultant in combustion and energy engineering. He is supported by a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, developing expertise tailor made to respond to the needs and constraints of tomorrow.
